Often we see this step ignored which can cause high and recurrent repair costs. The lack of maintenance will also lead to deterioration and excessive wear to the equipment and sterilizing will not be as effective.
You should calibrate, inspect and maintain your autoclave on a monthly or yearly basis. This will ensure your sterilizer is running properly and remaining in good working order. If your autoclave is used very heavily we would recommend this service bi-annually.
